In Greene County district court James Leon Cunningham, 41, of Jefferson was found not guilty at a jury trial May 10 on a charge of child endangerment. All costs were assessed to the state.
Trevor Michael Winters, 32, of Jefferson was granted a deferred judgment after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated-first offense. He must pay a $1,250 civil penalty and a $10 surcharge for drug abuse resistance education (DARE). The court found him unable to pay $180 in restitution for his court appointed attorney. Winters was placed on informal probation for one year. He must complete the recommendations of a substance abuse evaluation he has already undergone, and he must enroll in a community college drinking driver’s school. (Sentencing: Honorable Adria A. Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignments as follows: Matthew John Goff, 42, of Jefferson, possession of a controlled substance – third or subsequent offense (two counts), burglary – third degree (two counts), and theft – third degree; Kevin Armando Montoya, 19, of Grand Junction, burglary – third degree and criminal mischief – first degree; Zakkariah Dylan Levi Boudewyn, 25, of Jefferson, possession of methamphetamine; Jessica Lynn Waddell, 34, of Jefferson, possession of methamphetamine – third or subsequent offense; Jody Lyn Schad, 40, of Jefferson, assault while displaying a dangerous weapon and domestic abuse assault – first offense; and Danny Lee Thorn, 30, of Glidden, OWI-third offense. A trial date was set for June 21 for Boudewyn and for July 26 for all other defendants.
A case was initiated against Daniel Blain Pierce, 43, of Colfax, charged with theft-first degree and possession of stolen property.
